TCL is one of the fastest-growing Chinese AC brands in Europe and the Gulf. Its fault codes follow the common E/F/P pattern; here is how to read them and pinpoint the board.
Common TCL codes
Identify the family first.
- E1: high-pressure protection or communication
- E2: indoor sensor fault
- E8: overload / anti-freeze protection
- F1 / F2: outdoor sensor or module fault
Quick checks
Rule out the cheap causes.
Disconnect power before opening the unit.
- Clean filters and confirm airflow (E8 is often airflow-related)
- Reseat sensor connectors on the indoor board
- Check the communication line indoor-outdoor
- Inspect the PCB for burn marks and bad solder joints
Board replacement
When the control PCB is confirmed.
- Read the reference silkscreened on the board
- Confirm compatibility with the unit model
- Prefer a tested board with warranty
