Most common Hisense codes
Read the code before touching anything.
- F5 / F8: outdoor or IPM / power module fault
- E9: communication loss between indoor and outdoor
- E4: temperature sensor (NTC) out of range
- P-codes: protection (voltage, current, high pressure)
Sensor or control board?
Isolate the cause step by step.
Work with the power disconnected. Inverter capacitors can hold a charge.
- Check and reseat the NTC sensors and connectors first
- Verify the indoor-outdoor communication wire
- If the code persists after sensors are ruled out, suspect the main/inverter board
- Look for burnt tracks, swollen capacitors or a fried IPM on the PCB
Replacing the board
When the PCB is confirmed faulty.
- Note the exact board reference printed on the PCB
- Match indoor vs. outdoor board and unit model
